Guava Purée

MAKES 1.7L

1 Kg ripe peeled guavas with pips removed

250ml sugar

750ml water

Liquidise guavas in a electric food processor.  Add the sugar and the water.

Cook slowly for 10 minutes or until thick, stirring frequently.  Allow to cool.  Pour into sterilized bottles and seal.  Alternatively, pour into containers suitable for freezing and freeze until needed.

HINT:  Use the same recipe without sugar for unsweetened guava purée.
