ORIENTAL PORK CHOPS WITH CARAMELISED GUAVAS.

Give this traditional dish a sweet twist, perfect for in-between weather.

  • 30 ml lemon juice
  • 60 ml butter
  • 60 ml brown sugar
  • 6 ripe guavas, peeled & sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 1 cm piece ginger, sliced
  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • 30 ml soy sauce
  • 4 – 6 pork chops
  • Sesame seeds
  • Fresh coriander

Heat lemon juice, butter and sugar in a frying pan. Add guavas, garlic and ginger until well coated, colour starts to change and sugar starts to caramelise. Add spring onions and soy sauce. Fry pork chops until golden and cooked and serve with caramelised guavas. Serve on noodles and top with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and coriander.
Serves 2 – 4.
