Zesty Almond and Guava Tartlets

Zesty Almond and Guava Tartlets

 SERVES 6

Ingredients:

50g soft butter

45ml soft brown sugar

1 extra large egg

50g ground almonds

45ml self-raising flour

Zest of 1 lime and 1 orange

3 fresh guavas, peeled, halved or 6 canned halves, drained and fanned

30ml soft brown sugar

50g melted chocolate

Toasted slivered almond

Method:

Preheat oven to 175⁰C.

Cream butter and sugar until creamy and light.

Add egg, almonds and flour.

Add zest and mix well.

Spread into six loose bottomed quiche tins (10 cm in diameter).

Place a fanned guava in each.

Press into the dough.

Sprinkle brown sugar on top.

Bake for 20 – 25 minutes.

Let it cool.

Drizzle with chocolate and top with toasted slivered almonds
